1.200 Million Tourists Traveled Around the World In 2015
New WTO report established an increase of 4.4% compared to 2014. Tourism is increasing. In 2014, 1.200 million tourists traveled the world. They established the new report by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), which presented a report on how it went tourism last year. In the document, the UNWTO reported that international tourist arrivals increased by 4.4 percent the previous year.
Compared with 2014, last year there were about 50 million more international tourists (overnight visitors) worldwide.
“International tourism reached new heights in 2015. The American region recorded the highest growth, with an increase of 8 percent in international arrivals, followed by Asia-Pacific and the Middle East (both up 5 percent). Arrivals in Europe rose 3 percent and 2 percent in Africa.
In the case of South America, the WTO related data discriminated 2014 (not yet discriminated the 2015) and established increased by 5 percent, thanks to the efforts of Argentina (13 percent), Ecuador (14 per percent) and Colombia (12 percent), Paraguay (6 percent), Chile (3 percent) and Peru (2 percent) grew at a more moderate pace. In the case of Colombia, according to data from the WTO in 2014, the country tripled the global average of foreign tourists.
The most recent figures established that in 2014 a total of 4’192.742 nonresident foreign visitors entered the country. According to reports Migration Colombia, the increase over 2013 was 11.9 percent.

According to the WTO, in the first place it stood France (83.7 million tourists); USA (74.8 million); Spain (65 million), China (55.6); Italy (48.6 million); Turkey (39.8 million); Germany (33 million); United Kingdom (32.6 million); Russia (29.8 million) and Mexico (29.1 million).
