Fifty Cities Celebrate the European Wine Tourism Day
European Wine Tourism Day is celebrated in Italy, Portugal Spain and several other cities simultaneously. On this occasion of the last year, the Wine Routes of Spain involved new one, and reaches at 11 (in the fourth edition of adjustment).
To commemorate this initiative and bring European citizens to experience wine culture, Product Club of the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN) revealing the wine, gastronomy and heritage of these territories. Food and wine, cultural, catering and entertainment are among the main proposals that are focused intensely.
Lleida to Jumilla, the Penedès to Almendralejo, Aranda de Duero to Yecla, through Somontano, Montilla, Viana, Alcazar de San Juan or Requena etc, a total of 17 cities and Wine Routes of Spain, participating in this Day launched in 2009 by the European Network of Wine Cities (RECEVIN). These are of course made of a constructive network as 49 territories are attached and united among themselves.
In order to adapt the wine to any visitor, families, couples or groups of friends of all ages, whether or not to understood the world of wine, all kinds of activities are proposed to be taken. They are including food and wine, open days at wineries, guided tours, tasting courses; wine pairings, tastings wines from locally produced markets.
On the other hand they also take some tour related activities such as visits to museums, tours of castles, film festivals, conferences, seminars, exhibitions, theatrical tours and presentations related to the world of wine offer, cultural books etc.
For the proposal of wine tourism and accommodation packages with stays in weekend, many restaurants offered ‘enocosmética’ menus, a catalog of entertainment, highlighting the cycle routes, wine territories, spa among vineyards, tourist trains, walking or riding through vineyards or gymkhanas food and wine.
