Average expenditure per foreign tourist climbs 5.7% in Spain
The total spending package of tour without travelers grew by 12.5% in Spain. According to the official survey of Egatur, the foreign tourists who visited Spain in last January, spent a total of 3.402 million euros in their travel (including transportation and the procurement of services from their home countries). This is about 9.5% more than that of the same month last year. Also average spending per tourist rose by 5.7%.
According to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, ” the volume of spending scored the highest in the time series record for that month. ” “The rise was due to both the increase of the number of tourists (3.6%) and the average expenditure per tourist (5.7%), actually generated and touched 1,073 euros. Also the average daily expenditure rose on 8.9% & it stood at 114 euros, “added the Minister.
The United Kingdom, with 544 million, stood as the first issuer of spending, followed by Germany with 512 million, and the Nordic countries, with 421 million.
Accommodations, form of organization and purpose of travel
Tourists who chose hotel accommodation are spending a total of 2.069 million euros previously spent 1,333 million, rose by 9.3% to 9.8%, while the expenditure of those who chose non-hotel accommodation spend a standstill amount.
Travel arrangements without tour package, which totaled 2,317 million, went up by 12.5% and accounted for 68.1% of the total. Tourists with tour package spent 1.085 billion, an option that rose 3.6% and represented 31.9% of the total.
